Christian Hahn
My work with stone comes from an intuitive connection to the material. Time and history are compacted in stone and working with it challenges my sense of the possible. I prefer using natively-sourced material, usually employing a 'dry-stone' method, although I use mortar on many of my natural-stone veneer commissions. My projects draw from a creative orientation in music, and I do not differentiate between the two crafts. I build walls, arches, moon gates, bridges, spheres, stiles, and whatever our imaginations can devise.
