A large terrace off the back of a Civil-War-Era home, floating on a bulky retaining wall jutting 30 feet into the air like the prow of a ship.  Double-sided perimeter walls 3 feet high, strong enough to support seating, bold slab stones providing access from the back of the house, and a custom-designed outdoor fireplace.  All stone was reclaimed from the client's property.
